Marketing Mission worked with Ohev Sholom to create a sustainable, user-friendly 75-page directory and integrated digital database solution.
Ohev Sholom faced significant challenges with their annual community directory production. As a dynamic congregation serving diverse members, keeping their directory up-to-date was crucial for maintaining community connections. However, the process was time-consuming, costly, and required extensive external assistance each year. The existing system lacked flexibility for updates and was not aligned with modern digital practices. This outdated approach was draining resources and limiting the organization's ability to focus on its core mission of community engagement and spiritual leadership.
Our team at Marketing Mission developed a comprehensive solution that addressed both immediate needs and long-term sustainability. We created a clean, black-and-white directory design that prioritized readability and ease of future updates, while respecting the traditional aesthetics important to an Orthodox Jewish congregation. The cornerstone of our solution was the integration of this print directory with a digital database, allowing the Ohev Sholom team to make updates independently.
We also simplified the ad submission process by creating a digital form with clear guidelines, reducing the need for extensive modifications. To ensure the synagogue staff could maintain and update the system independently, we produced custom educational walkthrough videos covering all aspects of the new system.
What was done/deliverables:
The new directory system streamlined their processes, saving time and resources. The user-friendly database and educational videos empowered the team to manage updates independently, reducing the need for external assistance. The digital form for ad submissions simplified the process for local businesses and community supporters, potentially increasing participation and reducing the workload for the synagogue staff.
This transformation not only solved immediate challenges but also positioned the organization to better serve its community by freeing up resources for its core mission of leading and serving the greater Jewish community.
